Call It Courage

Mafatu is struggling with his fear of the ocean.  He has decided to try to go and find his courage somewhere else where people do not know about him or his past.  As a believer, we do not have to be fearful.  We know that the Lord is in control of all things.  What Scripture can you find that will help you when you are fearful?  Please work with your parents (but don't let them do all the work).  Ask them how to use a concordance at the back of their Bible or use the topical index at www.biblegateway.com.  Type out 2-3 verses that could help you when you are feeling fearful.  Don't forget to include the reference with each verse.  And DON'T FORGET TO POST YOUR NAME!!!!  =o)

For those that had a hard time with the last few posts:

1) Click on the "no comments" or "comments" link at the bottom of this post.

2) Write your verses in the comment box.

3)  Write your name at the bottom of your post.

4)  Find "anonymous" in the pull down menu by Comment as: .

5) Click "publish."

6) A little blurb will come up that says your comment will be posted after I have approved it and the comment box will be blank.

Happy posting!!!  Look forward to seeing more jingles posted - and make sure you are still reviewing the ones that are already on here.

Sign of the Beaver - Book vs Movie

We just finished reading Sign of the Beaver and watching the movie.  Compare and contrast the movie with the book.  Which did you like better?  Please be detailed.  Make sure you use capital letters where it is appropriate and end marks with your sentences.  Use the worksheet we worked on in class to help you with this post.

First Week of School

The week started out pretty wild, but ended with relative calmness.  Overall, I would like to think that we had a great first week of school.  Mrs. Zemek, Mrs. Gray and I have all commented on what great students we have and that we know this year is going to be a wonderful one.
To the parents, wow!  Thank you for all the blessings you have given us.  You give us the opportunity to work with your children, you bless us with items from our wish list and you pray for us.  We thank the Lord for you.  We look forward to working with you in making this a tremendous year for the students.
To the students, we had such a great week.  I know Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Zemek already know most of you and I am looking forward to that privilege as well.

This blog is going to server many purposes.  I would like to post the newsletter, include information about field trips, but mostly it will be an area where students will post blogs and comment on what we are learning.

The first student blog will be about Sign of the Beaver. Parents, be on the lookout in the next week or so for book reviews on this book.   Students, if you are not the one blogging, I would like you to comment about your thoughts on the book. The post should be on here around Aug. 19th.

Soli Deo Gloria!  Glory to God Alone!
